Why True United exists

Our communities have been left to figure this out alone for too long.

We started True United because the people who needed this help most — immigrant seniors, refugees, families working two jobs, business owners building from scratch — were getting the least of it. The mail was confusing, the agents disappeared after enrollment, and nobody asked what life they actually wanted.

We plan for this generation, and the next. Whether your future is here in the US, back home in Cambodia, or somewhere in between — there's a real plan for that, and we'll help you build it.

Who you'll work with

Jimmy Oung started True United Care in 2015 because his own family needed someone to explain Medicare and retirement — patiently, in their language, and not for a fee. Today True United is a team. Whoever you talk to, you're working with people who grew up in these communities and stay reachable after the call ends.

I grew up in San Francisco in a family that always valued helping others and showing respect to seniors. A lot of my family members have worked in healthcare and community support, which inspired me to develop a passion for helping seniors feel comfortable, heard, and cared for.

I have experience in medical billing, care coordination, and helping seniors better understand Medicare, health insurance, and their healthcare benefits. I mainly work on the back end to help make sure seniors are properly taken care of and supported behind the scenes — whether it's coordinating care, reviewing information, assisting with billing issues, or helping families understand coverage.

What people ask us most.

Is your help really at no cost?
No cost for our services at all. We're contracted by most carriers — our job is to make sure their customers are taken care of, and most people don't even know this service exists.
I already have a Medicare plan. Can you still help?
Most of the people we work with already have a plan but are looking for guidance. Most don't realize benefits with carriers change yearly, so we also look to see if you can upgrade your current plan with your carrier.
What does retirement planning with True United look like?
It's simple — you tell us your current situation and what you want, we create several plans, and those plans can be updated anytime.
I want to retire back in my home country. Can you plan for that?
Yes — a lot of people want flexibility to retire at home while making sure their family is sustainable here. We'll help make sure your cash flow can support the life you want.
Do you speak Khmer or Spanish?
Yes — we speak Khmer and Spanish. You can also have a translator present when talking with us if you'd like.
Where are you located?
We work remotely, just like most companies do these days.
Do I have to come to an office?
No, you don't. We can set up a time to meet on the phone or virtually.
What should I bring or have ready?
ID, Medicare card, Medicaid card, prescription information, and doctor information.
Can my children or family join?
Yes — we welcome your children or anyone helping you on this journey. We like staying in communication with children so they're aware what's going on with their parents' Medicare and retirement.
Is my information confidential?
Yes — your information is kept confidential here at True United.
Will calling sign me up for anything?
No. A call is just a conversation. You only enroll when you sign an application — and we walk through it line by line first.
